Heather is a clinical professional turned patient advocate whose work is grounded in lived experience, scientific training, and a fierce dedication to improving care for people with Tarlov Cyst Disease.
With over a decade of experience in massage therapy and acupuncture, Heather has supported patients with chronic pain and disability while simultaneously pursuing advanced studies in psychology and health science research. She holds a BSc with a minor in Applied Statistics and formal training in Research Ethics.
Diagnosed with Tarlov Cyst Disease herself, Heather’s journey through pain and dismissal fuels her commitment to ensure no patient faces their challenges alone. At the Tarlov Cyst Society, she helps shape the future of patient-informed research, bridges clinical perspectives with real-world impact, and uplifts the voices of those too often overlooked.
